Cancel Culture: A Divergence from Truth

Divergence Defined:  Deviation; Departure; Discrepancy; A separation.

I love that Truth is self-evident. It is undeniable and applicable-no matter your skin color-for TRUTH applies to ALL.   The truth is, our country has mutated into something unappealing.  In fact, it is principally appalling and done under the guise of doing something "righteous".  Someone, somewhere is going to have to rise up with courage and speak out against this moral divergence in our society-for avoidance of the subject allows it to continue; so, here goes….

This country was founded on Christian Principles that include two very important components: Grace & Forgiveness.  Whether you practice Christianity or not, the Christian value system is the bedrock of our republic.  When US citizens no longer live within the healthy boundaries of Godly principles the Deception of Divergence steps in and creates mayhem.  We have moral protections from this chaos, but we have let down our guard and moved away from proven moral principles.  With our departure-from-principles in motion, a divisive thought-process has been conjured up and this new phenomenon called Cancel Culture has risen where Grace & Forgiveness should stand.  

Instead of Grace and forgiveness we dish out judgment.  Instead of sound reason we turn to vengeance and blindly set out to destroy.  As evidenced on social media and in the news, we are no longer able to peaceably co-exist or even tolerate each other, neither publicly nor professionally. 

In Christianity, the practice of extending Grace is a principle issue.  Unfortunately, here in the good ole USA, it has been discounted and has lost its previously secure place in American culture. Grace includes the act of giving something that is undeserved; therefore, grace is the essence of forgiveness.  We all need that here and there, don’t we?  When not applied, bitterness rises up and brings with it bad behavior.  In personal reflection I confess I've loitered here before but forgiveness redeemed me.  Our current remedy 

does the exact opposite in that it takes this bitterness and bad behavior into the town square and with irreversible actions calls fellow citizens to condemn, shame and brand a fellow citizen with a proverbial Scarlet Letter called Cancel Culture.

When we look at this through the lens of Christianity, Cancel Culture seems to be derived from a place of self-righteousness. Scripture teaches “No one is righteous; no, not one.” Romans 3: 10  The self-righteousness of Cancel Culture is so outward-focused it cannot see this inward truth and boldly excludes the concept of personal accountability, forgiveness & grace.  Astonishingly, the indiscretion of “demanding an apology” becomes an acceptable act and takes precedence over decency. If we use this concept impartially couldn’t I demand an apology from you for demanding an apology from me?  I’m sure you would instinctively think, “How dare you!”.  I do as well.  So, as we stand in a stalemate, the logical question is, “Where does this end?”

I can’t tell you where this dangerous practice will end but I can tell you WHEN it will end:  at the point-in-time when we all look within our own hearts and begin there, seeking truth. The inner-recognition that  forgiveness is needed allows grace a place to start.  Here is what scripture tells us about grace:

"But by the grace of God

I am what I am,

and his grace to me was not without effect."
1st Corinthians 15:10

For centuries we've had a mechanism to counter Cancel Culture.  It is known in the Christian and secular world as the Golden Rule:  “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”  Luke 6:31

To apply this widely held rule my question is this; “Would I want you canceling me, damaging my reputation or my business?”  The answer is self-evident.  So why would I do this to you?  Do I have anything to lose?  Do you?  Vengeance is a well-oiled machine that can inflict damage to both parties. As you toss a Cancel Culture bomb at me you’re in danger of being caught in the fall-out.  If this continues, we will all need to rise up from the ashes of this smoldering Cancel-Culture heap.  

Yet another Christian principle that applies here is this: 

"Do not judge or you too will be judged.

For in the same way you judge others,

you will be judged, 

and with the measure you use, 

it will be measured to you."

Matthew 7: 1-2

Let’s be clear; neither your age nor sex; neither your religious affiliation nor your political affiliation; neither your skin color nor race actually matter.  This is a Godly issue-of-principle that affects the human race and literally sets the course for our daily lives, for better or worse.  It begins with our heart and spills forth out of our mouths and as we know, our mouth can create a lot of trouble for us.

The Crux of the Crisis:

America, 9/11 woke us up but we have fallen asleep again.  We are complacent at a pivotal moment in time when we should be on High Alert as The Beacon of Freedom to the world.  Graciously, there is something that holds this country together at the very fabric of its soul and provides protections we are almost unaware of, and that is the belief in God.  Even our money cries out, “In God We Trust”.  Those who detest this truth are fighting against the very doctrines on which this country is founded. Let’s be honest, many have changed sides and no longer speak for America, but call out for a fundamental change in her foundation, which purposely brings about her death.  Why? For power; plain and simple.  

To deny this and try to hold this country, and her people, together in one accord under the pretension that “all is well” is like the picture-perfect concept of a child’s finger sealing up the hole in a massive dam.  The predicament of the Dam is the crux of the crisis: It's a big deal but don’t know we’re damned.  My call for years has been “Wake up America.” 

With that said, here is the point of my wake-up call:  Truth is truth and, the truth is, FREEDOM is not free.  As President Reagan said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction”. My question, for months now as been,  “Is this generation of Americans too tired to fight for our freedom?”  As of now, it is a metaphorical fight using a vote as a weapon but if we remain unconcerned or uninvolved, we may have an actual battle on our hands for the very freedom we are so carelessly casting away.

Sadly, this war has already been fought and won before, with blood and guts, and it’s a shame that we are under-educated and don’t see the writing on the wall or should I say the writings within our history books.  This dumbing down of America is purposed and yields a citizenry capable of believing a liar to lead them.  Below is a quote that seems apropos:

Like the Germans, we have placed our faith in leaders whom we “assume” have our best interests at heart.  It panics me to see that so many Americans do not understand we are on the precipice of socialism (Research Venezuela). It frightens me that we have the power of the vote to stop socialism in its tracks as it sits on the ballot here in the grand ole USA.  Biden and Kamala have told us what they plan to do but we aren’t listening.  We are already experiencing censorship of speech.  Yet, we keep posting like that’s gonna change after the election.  It will not.  

When we lose our freedom we may never get it back and it will take a literal life-or-death uprising to do so that will effect the entire world.  Are you ready for that?  The reality is, we didn’t have the courage or stamina to wage a fight for our freedom during COVID so are we gonna bother as our constitutional rights continue to be watered down or taken away in the near future?

Right now we still have the opportunity to VOTE yet even with total freedom to do so many choose to be complacent.  We love our way-of-life but we sit back and allow others to elect our politicians not realizing that these very people set the course of our daily life-style and that of our entire nation.  Furthermore, the world is watching and counting on us because where America goes the entire world follows.  Isn’t that nice for those seeking World Power. 

My fellow Americans, do we want to put candidates in power that love our constitution, our flag, our faith and our country or do we want to elect those who would intimidate us by burning our flag, riot in our streets and literally steal from others, on camera, as they demand cities defund police. (Is that just convenient for criminals or is there another underlying reason? Think about it!) 

Not all democrats, but the far-left wing of the democrat party has hijacked half of America and it now functions using anti-American policies. It’s obvious that it has used manipulation and intimidation to sway votes under the guise that when Biden is elected all this rioting will stop. They used community organizers to create the rioting so of course they can boast they have the power to stop it.  How blatant, yet many American people don’t seem to attribute this violence in our city streets to a form of manufactured voter-intimidation.  That is exactly what it is. America has deliberately been intimidated for the single purpose of mentally swaying us to vote Trump out of office.   Why?  Deep State Power, plain and simple. 

For crying out loud: to those who don’t realize it; the media is owned by men who do not love this nation and, though it may make you uncomfortable when Trump calls the media Fake News he is not being a jerk.  Lies work.  Propaganda works.  Hitler used it and almost won the soul of the entire world.  The twisted issue with World War II is that now there are those who stand against history and say the Holocaust didn’t happen.  Why? Well, Hitler literally said, 

“How fortunate for leaders that men don’t think.
Make the lie big, make it simple and keep saying
and eventually they will believe it”.

Now, that is a prime example of the use of propaganda. 

Here in 2020, we have technology that allows high-tech companies to feed us whatever they want and in doing so they control the News and more importantly the Truth.  Don’t be fooled, they know they have the power to sway and use it.  They repeat, repeat, repeat what the main-stream media says, even if it’s a lie -and in doing so use a page right out of Hitler’s book.   These companies pay people big money to lie to our faces because Americans are spoiled in our “freedom” and enjoy being spoon-fed news. One big-tech company actually employs Chinese nationals to help censor American’s posts.  (Talk about hiring well.  Look that up). 

In our ignorance, we are blissfully unaware that what is happening in our country is detrimental to our very foundation of freedom and as misinformation trickles out, the downfall of a great nation is just a misinformed-misstep away.  In our naivety we think “This can’t be true?” ….but it is.   These high-tech business owners are wealthy elites with an Anti-American agenda.  They prioritize power over love-of-country and in doing so undermine their fellow Americans and our very way-of-life, to the demise of all. Why? Again, power, plain and simple.

CHOSE TO BE INFORMED!

A Political Divide!

During this era of a"new normal" in American life, with the threat of Corona Virus in control, there are many voices chattering these days: voices of leadership, voices of news and politics, voices of statistics and voices using scare-tactics.  There are many ways to process what they say: We can vacillate and be frantic, sit quietly and be patient, we can even rise up and participate-as many communicate what it is they believe is at stake.  I am one of the latter. 

My first instinct, when this Corona Virus hit the airways of the United States was to be angry and frustrated, as I lamented, “Didn’t we JUST get our economy back on track!”. I considered the truth that the Democrat Party would do ANYTHING to get Mr. Trump out of office including putting spies in his campaign and literally setting this presidential candidate up as if he were working with and for the Russian Government and against the USA. I am infuriated and heart-broken that US Politics has degenerated to this!

Knowing politics, as I do, I would not put ANYTHING past the opposing party of the current administration and this thought sickens me! For weeks now, I have gone to great lengths to understand my inner anger- as I filtered information through lens of health VS the economic concern; what appears to be sound judgment VS what IS sound decision making; my political views VS spiritual truths; and the subject of truth VS half-truths, propaganda and flat-out lies. 

For people, like myself, who have watched, for years, as evil rose up as if good and when lies were spoken as if true and when people in places of leadership, especially those being paid to sit behind a microphone, stirred up dissension and discord among the US citizens I can quickly say "Yeah, I’m frustrated and righteously infuriated".  And, I AM NOT alone. 

My personal quest, and purpose of this writing, is to figure out why the American people are so easily capable of laying down their freedoms so un-defensively when everything else in the powerful world of politics has been so contentious. This just doesn’t add up with the exception that FEAR was used as a scare-tactic for political purposes to the demise of our entire economy.  The problem with this is that now our enemies know the American People have lost their stomach for that it takes to maintain freedom!  There is a time and place for obedience and then there is the proper time to rise up and demand our elected officials listen to the Will of the People. It seems many prefer the cushy life-style of Easy Street and don't mind if others do our thinking....and with that we have opened ourselves up to a coup-within our own borders and from outside our borders as well!

My mind can’t get over this question that sits on the forefront of my brain EVERYDAY:  Is it just  IRONIC that after President Trump built our economy up to heights never reached before in our exceptional history, a VIRUS, we cannot see, destroyed it all????  Someone, please, please, please make sense of this for I cannot fathom it!  My mind is so bent out-of-shape over this because of how OBVIOUS that is is that I simply cannot get rid of my bewilderment!!!  This jury is still out on this but….

Here is what we do know:  There is a political divide in this country.  It is not there because we Americans are against each other because overall, we are a People of brotherly love and deep beliefs; in God, in country, in family and in freedom.  No, this divisiveness has been strategically sown into the fabric of this country slowly, subtly, subliminally and therefore unconsciously, over the years. Pride in being an American has been deemed socially and politically unacceptable.  Regarding education, our kids are neither taught true American History nor about our exceptionalism.  College professors are notably anti-American and anti-God.  Some form of evil has decided to gain the hearts and minds of our youth.  The astute recognize that it has happened and then ask why?  Scripture gives us some insight:

“Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined,
 and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.”

Inside the borders of this country there is a covert movement that wants us divided. THIS is obvious for those who have already recognized it.  I have only paid attention to politics for about the last 10 years and I’ve been astounded at the power plays that take place under the noses of We, the People.  Yet, using World History to reflect back on, we know that power-grabs and mass control of humanity has been a goal for many a world leader throughout the centuries and more specifically, this evil divide has been present in this Country since it’s founding.  Yes, This Evil is THAT old. Who wants America to fail and who is in control of this covert movement that, to me is so obvious?  With that question asked others arise. Such as, what is the reason behind this malicious movement?  What is the end-goal?  Of course the answer is money but more importantly, POWER!

Judaism and Christianity have always stood on the theological premise that evil wants to over-throw God.  The sinful human heart doesn’t want to answer to a higher authority.  Put that hypothesis onto a political platform and you can see how a power hungry human or political party, in control of a massive amount of people, could seek to over-throw the statutes and principles on which this country was founded, to the demise of all.

Power is intoxicating and many of our politicians are drunk on it!  They buy in and like so many unethical unions they cannot buy out.  The selling of their souls has been done and it cannot be undone... not without the God of Justice showing up in miraculous ways. UNTIL then We, The People have the power of the VOTE!  Why do we forget that we hire and fire politicians and we are in control of the purse strings of this country??? They govern for us….not over us!!!

 In my opinion, some of the wicked tactics being used against the American people are as FOLLOWS:

• ·      Diverting our attention one way- while evil slight of hand activity is going on out of our view-(The fake news is the perfect minion for this purpose)
• ·       Purposely causing us to fight among ourselves while our very way of life is subverted right under our noses: (A kingdom divided against itself shall fall)
• ·      Pretending to be focusing on our most valued needs while undermining it at the same time (Bait and Switch)
• ·      Using the power of our very own government against us to change and/or eradicate our very way of life. (Our blind-folded Lady Justice isn't so blind).
• ·      Causing many to believe the Government is in control when our constitution says We, The People are actually in control-(The dumbing Down of America).
• ·      Giving the Citizens reasons to want to give power away to the government therefore denigrating the free enterprise system of the USA and our overall freedom, indeed!  (Forcing US Citizens to feel dependent on US Government for financial support does the trick)

Where is this orchestrated downfall of America coming from? From the powerful and wealthy using our elected officials. This power-play is wielded in every level of government! The American people just don’t seem to recognize this!  That is why my motto and calling to my fellow Americans for years has been

“Wake Up America”

We need to be aware of all levels of elections and pay attention to the differences between who is running.  Being informed is a must if you want your way-of-life to be maintained.  Many chose to ignore that there are sinful, imperfect “politicians” who would do anything to undermine our Way of LIfe!  Why in the world would anyone chose to be indifferent regarding politicians that are running our states, cities and, in essence, our lives?  The very BEST of people can be turned or blackmailed into becoming criminals- if given the right reasons!  Let’s discuss some of the motivating reasons:

·      INFLUENCE

·      GREED

·      IMMORALITY

·      LACK OF CONSCIENCE

There have been many evil events, throughout history, with humans at the helm.  What, then, was the purpose of the evil leaders of the past, for example, Hitler?  I’d say it is to over-throw rightful authority, to gain control of the masses and take ultimate power. He is the perfect example of the twisted belief that the end justifies the means.  This mentality takes savagery and history shows that certain types of evil are bloodthirsty.  How does this relate to the current condition here in our country?  It serves as a stark reminder that evil exists BUT it is not always as blatant as the horror of Hitler.   Something has shifted in our country.  Truth has been thrown to the ground and even the dictionary now has a new word called Post-Truth.  With this said, let me introduce you to Post Truth Politics: which  “appeals to emotion and personal belief” instead of moral law.

This should floor us all!  The premise of our founding documents and the compass of this country was set for “a moral and religious people”. Many have stepped away from belief that there is absolute truth and consequently, THAT is the divide amongst the People.

Morality once formed our laws and created the successful way of life that the world envied.  Now, in post-truth America, our laws are inspired by emotion and personal beliefs. In turn, our politicians lead our cities and states with many unstable influences that are unhealthy to a moral people and stand in contrast to the constitution under which we formed our principality.  This confusion creates a divide among the citizenry.  Then, if you’re uninformed you can be easily misled! Confusion sets in and the country becomes even more divided!  My ghastly point is: If we are not a moral people, with laws set on firm foundations of truth, then our constitution will no longer apply to our politics or our life-style.  This country’s success or demise is founded on this truth (per John Adams).

Our Way of Life Needs Oxygen!

I’m looking for some hope-
I really need a lifeline.
I need a little room

or just a little more time.

Inhaling what’s left of freedom-

gasping like there is none to spare.
